Two new posts!! Missions are great! + Halloween!
Thursday night we had dinner with Elder Hinckley and Elder Unsicker. Elder Hinckley is serving here in Houston and happens to be my trainer's brother!! Vanessa was the BEST missionary, trainer, and person in our mission and I was so blessed to have served with her! Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of her... back in those days when I served I didn't have a digital camera... funny, huh?! It was fun to hear their message and be reminded of how great it is to share the gospel!
What a weekend!!!
I have always loved decorating for holidays. When I was younger I couldn't wait for Mom to get out the box of decorations! I had so much fun decorating my own home for Halloween this year! The whole weekend was one big party! We had people over on Friday night for a little celebration.
That night Jimmy and I did a repeat of last year.
Marc was the man in the yellow hat and our niece, Emi, was the monkey. Cute!! And we are so proud of Marc for dressing up!!

Makana's daughter, Jayden, won the kid's costume contest.
Cute Brittany MADE their costumes! We can't wait till our new neighbors move in next month!!
The Thayns are Texas fans.... as they should be!

I loved having my nephews there! It was so fun!
This is the first time I have ever seen my dad dress up. AND he won the costume contest! Way to go, Dad!! Adam was a balla! What an awesome brother!
Beckett LOVED the treats!
On Saturday, we went to the Renaissance Festival during the day....Gypsy sisters!

Why have we not posted pictures from our amazing trip to the Czech Republic? (History lesson- It has not been Czechoslovakia since 1989) I can't think of any other reason except for it's fun to procrastinate... especially when there are no real consequences. I always like to practice when I can.
So... here they are! You will be thinking to yourself that there are a lot of pictures, but we took 2,000!! It was hard to narrow it down!
Their idea of fast food is sausage in a roll! Yum!

This beautiful door handle is on the front doors of the above castle. It shows the birds pecking the eyeball of the Turks!
One of my favorite things about Europe is riding the trains. It is SO Harry Potter!!
Should your next trip be to the beautiful and romantic Czech Republic? YES!

Surfside...strange or ingenious?
I've been to a few beaches in my day but last Saturday was a unique experience! We usually go to Galveston, but everyone we talk to raves about Surfside so we decided to try it out. It was so interesting. You pull off the street and drive right onto the beach. Then you drive right up to the water like you're parking at the grocery store and set up beach right next to the car. 
Actually, some people just open the doors and sit in their cars. It's weird... and at first I was really freaked out about it, but it was really convenient! We didn't have to walk to get back to the car, and we just kept all the food in the trunk which was right next to our umbrella and chairs. I'm not thrilled about having my picture taken on the beach but I took myself out of the last beach picture and I needed to make it up to Jimmy.
I love these people who parked right next to us. They're professional Surfside beach bums! Pop open the bed of the truck and camp out all day! Beautiful!

Just a typical weekend living by the gulf.
Saturday we went to the beach in Galveston.
Then on Sunday we experienced hurricane season with our first hurricane warning.

Jimmy got a new do too!!
We all went to Andrea's in Austin for the 4th of July. It must have been really hot becuase Jimmy felt inspired to shave his head. It's so cute!! He hasn't had his hair this short since he was in Mexico on his mission!
