The Tastiest Birthday Yet!

I love birthdays, food, relaxing, and Jimmy. Those 4 favorite things of mine made up my birthday this past Friday! Jimmy made me waffles with strawberries and blueberries for breakfast- YUM! He then went off to work and I got to do whatever I wanted all day! This is the last birthday I will be able to do that with this little girl coming and I took full advantage. I lounged around in my bathrobe all day. For dinner, Jimmy surprised me with an unbelievable dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. To die for!!! Sure it depleted our savings account but it was the most delicious steak either of us have ever had. Also you'll notice the Blue Bell in the picture. One thing we are lucky to have here in Texas is Blue Bell ice cream. It is straight from the ice cream gods reserved only for people who have to suffer through Texas/southern summers. This is a new favorite flavor of mine- Summer Berries. YUM! I got a few gifts but the only thing I really asked for from Jimmy was a card. It was perfect! Thanks for the great day, sweetie!

Off to Serve

(at the setting apart on Sunday morning)
This last Sunday, Jimmy and I drove my parents to the Houston airport and said goodbye for 18 months. They will be in the MTC for one week, and on Monday, they fly out to the Czech Republic. They're going to love it!
I'm glad that my sister and her kids were there for the farewell weekend.
Oh, cute!!
As you can see, they caused the tears.
It was very sad watching my parents say goodbye to these grandbabies.
This is Beck showing Grandpa how tall he will be when he gets back.

They had A LOT of bags.

But it is very impressive that after 35 years of being together and accumulating stuff they can get it all down to a couple bags each and leave the rest behind. Luckily Jimmy is so responsible- they have nothing to worry about.
It does feel bizarre that we're living in their house. If you would have told me that this is where I'd be and what I'd be doing in my lifetime I would have called you crazy! You just never know where life will take you.

Utah...

We had been looking forward to this trip for 6 months. And now it's over. Isn't that how it always goes?
The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time with friends and family!! I was so glad that Jimmy got to hang out with these guys. And lucky for me, they married the coolest possible girls, so we all had a good time!
former roommates: Riley and Jimmy
current roommates: Riley and Justine

Jim, Helen and fam made it a party, as usual! Thanks for everything Jim and Helen- and Natalie, our chauffeur! We were so sad to leave!
And we loved spending time with this cutie, Dominic!!! It's always hard saying bye to the little ones!

Now we are back just in time for a sad/exciting farewell. I'm sure Dad and Mom are more than ready to get going after a 2 month visa delay, but I'm not sure we're ready to let them go now! This weekend will be full of memories, parties, more parties and some tears.

October is a great month!!

Many of you know about my LOVE for the month of October! Not only is it a beautiful time of year, but beautiful things have happened for us in October. We get to watch conference, it's Halloween time, we got married, and now we're having a baby...
October 22nd!!!

Surprise!!! We were too! We are so happy and blessed to be expecting a little Newton.
BTW- I have been keeping a baby blog, for anyone that may be interested.
BUT BE WARNED- it's a blog ALL about our baby. I know that the minute by minute update of our baby is the last thing on most people's minds, but since our families don't live close it will be a way to keep them updated. --------> The Baby Ballyhoo
